Karen had once loved the Fairy Queen with devoted adoration, serving faithfully at court until that love curdled into bitter jealousy.

Watching the Queen’s effortless power and grace, Karen’s affection transformed into consuming envy - she wanted that throne, that authority, that adoration, that perfect existence for herself.

When she realized no mortal could ever claim such power, her love became hatred overnight. In her spite, she betrayed sacred fairy secrets to human merchants, hoping to watch the Queen’s realm burn.

The fae banished her instantly, erasing her from their songs and stories. Now she wanders between worlds, welcomed nowhere, while the fairies - reminded once again not to trust humans - created a nail polish in her honor, a complex all at once beautiful yet sickly shade they mockingly named “Pariah.”
