Inspiration

Finn MacTiernán, a gancanagh and great-grandson of the mighty Oberon, first glimpsed Lilly during a magic hour when the veil between worlds grew gossamer-thin. Night after night he watched her paint the twilight sky from her cottage window, until he could no longer resist revealing himself in the shimmering liminal light. His voice was honey and starlight as he whispered of aurora secrets - how pink melted into purple like a lover’s blush, how green shimmer held promises of otherworldly enchantment. When he touched her hand and breathed her name like an incantation, Lilly’s heart was bound to his forever.

From that moment, she lived only for magic hour, abandoning everything to wait at her cottage window for the ethereal mists that signaled his return. His seduction was complete—she was utterly, hopelessly devoted, her world narrowed to those precious twilight moments when he would emerge from between realms with fairy glamour and impossible promises. Once, in desperate longing, she painted her nails in the aurora colors he conjured: soft pink deepening to purple with flashes of ethereal green, trying to hold some fragment of his magic when he vanished.

Years passed, and though Lilly aged, her obsession never dimmed. Each evening she pressed her face to the window, searching the twilight mists with desperate eyes, whispering his name like a prayer. The townsfolk said she’d been fairy-touched, but Lilly cared nothing for their pity. She had touched something beyond mortal love - those intoxicating twilight hours when Finn’s otherworldly devotion made her feel like the most cherished woman in any realm, worth waiting a lifetime to feel again.
