Inspiration

One October, Oberon flew to the Loire Valley to visit his uncle, who'd taken up residence at a small winery for the obvious reason - unlimited access to wine. Over their third bottle of the evening, his uncle recounted the dark years when a rival spread lies so vicious the entire village turned against the vintner. The accusations were complete fabrications. The townsfolk believed them anyway. Instead of wasting energy on defense, the vintner and a handful of loyal friends went silent and poured everything into their craft.

Years crawled by. The wine (which the rival had mockingly dubbed "plonk") started winning awards. Critics from Paris made special trips. Time did what truth alone couldn't: it exposed the competitor's pattern of sabotage and revealed a trail of crimes. The vintner was vindicated without uttering a single defense. Oberon returned home with a case of that legendary plonk, and one sleepless night, channeled the entire story into this rich, complex polish that shimmers with the quiet triumph of letting your work speak for itself.
